Hair Transplants or Wigs: Which is Better?

Hair Transplants or Wigs: Which is Better?

Beautiful women all have a head of flowing, lustrous hair; when strands brush against your face, that soft, flowing sensation drifts straight into your heart. Do you want a beautiful doll with a head of gorgeous hair? Wigs or hair transplants—do you know how to choose? Let's have a chat about hair transplants and wigs.

Features of Hair Transplantation

Hair transplantation typically involves securing individual strands or bundles of hair to the doll's head. The scalp itself is made of smooth silicone sex doll or TPE sex doll (which mimics skin). Craftsmen use specialised' hair implantation needles’ or mechanical equipment to force the roots of bundles of artificial hair (such as heat-resistant fibres, mohair or human hair) into the material of the head. Once inserted, the hair is usually held in place by the material's own elastic recoil, or—if there is a cavity inside the head—the roots are permanently fixed using specialised adhesive.

This technique makes the hair appear as though it is 'growing from the skin', with no visible edges from a hairpiece or cap. However, as these strands are not living, if pulled out with excessive force, the area will become a permanent ‘bald patch’ that can only be repaired by manually reinserting the hair.

We can clearly see the parting in the adult doll's hair, and it is even possible to tie it into a ponytail or style it in various ways that expose the forehead or nape of the neck, creating a highly realistic visual effect. In particular, when we pick up or move the doll, the hair does not slip or become dishevelled as easily as a wig would.

What about wigs?

Wigs are worn on the doll’s smooth head using an elastic mesh cap (a wig cap), much like how humans wear wigs. You can have a long, straight black one, a blonde one with big curls, or even a pink anime-style one. Change your style today, take on a new persona tomorrow—the novelty never fades.

If the hair gets dirty or tangled, you can simply remove the wig, place it in a basin, wash it thoroughly with conditioner, leave it to dry, or even restyle it with a low-heat curling iron – there's plenty of scope for creativity. Even if it becomes completely worn out, you can simply buy a new one to replace it.

The advantages of wigs are obvious, but does that mean wigs are the best option? The answer is, of course, no; both wigs and hair implants have their pros and cons.

With a hair transplant, the style, colour and length are essentially fixed from the outset. You cannot simply cut it short (once cut, it won't grow back), and it is very difficult to change the colour significantly. You must be extremely gentle when washing and combing it, because if you apply too much force and cause hair to be pulled out or break, the transplanted hair cannot regrow, and repairing a bald patch later on is very troublesome.

When wearing a wig, the edges of the cap may become visible from certain angles (particularly at the hairline, temples or the back of the head), or the volume may appear unnaturally thick. This is especially true when taking photographs, changing clothes or moving the adult doll, as the wig is prone to slipping or tilting, requiring frequent manual adjustments.

Our Suggestions

If you are a 'perfectionist' who strives for the utmost realism in photographs, are usually very patient about meticulously combing out every strand of hair, and are set on a particular hairstyle that you don’t want to change, then a hair transplant is your best option. However, if you enjoy variety and want your doll to try out different styles, then there is a wide range of wigs for you to choose from.

How to wash a hair transplant or wig?

As a hair transplant cannot be removed, you must wash the doll’s head (or even the whole body) as a single unit. The greatest challenge lies in ensuring the hair is thoroughly cleaned without allowing water to seep into the hollow interior of the doll’s head, whilst also taking care not to snag or break the hair strands.

It is best to lay the love doll down with its head suspended above a bath or washbasin, or to tilt the doll's head back to ensure the water flows down the back of the head.

Under no circumstances should water be allowed to enter the gaps around the doll’s ears or eyes. If water enters the hollow interior of the head and cannot dry out, the internal metal frame is prone to rusting, and the materials are susceptible to mould.

The cleaning steps are as follows:

1. Detangling before washing
This is the crucial first step. Before wetting the wig, use a metal-toothed comb (never use a plastic comb, as this will cause static electricity) to gently comb through the tangles, starting from the ends and working your way up. If you wash it straight away, the knots will become even more tightly knotted once wet.

2. Soak in warm water
Do not rub. Prepare a basin of warm water (no higher than 30°C), add a suitable amount of shampoo and stir until evenly mixed. Submerge the wig and gently press with your hands to allow the dirt to dissolve naturally. Under no circumstances should you rub vigorously as you would when washing your own hair; the wig will immediately become a tangled mess.

3. Rinse with clean water
Rinse along the direction of the hair strands. Rinse thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water, following the direction of the hair, until all soap suds have disappeared.

4. Conditioner treatment
Restore smoothness. Refill the basin with water and add a generous amount of conditioner or fabric softener (fabric softener works exceptionally well on synthetic hair). Soak the wig for 10 minutes, then rinse briefly with clean water (do not rinse too thoroughly; leave a little slip).

5. Absorbing moisture and air-drying
Never use high heat to dry. Wrap the wig in a large towel and gently press to absorb the moisture (do not wring it out). Then place the wig on a stand and leave it to air-dry naturally in a cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and never use a hairdryer on a hot setting.

A detangling and conditioning spray for wigs, available online for just a few quid a bottle, can be sprayed on after washing and drying to significantly reduce static and tangles. If you feel the doll’s hair is starting to become straw-like and frizzy, once the wig is completely dry, you can gently straighten it using a curling iron or straightening tongs set to the lowest temperature (usually below 110°C). The surface of the synthetic hair will smooth out again when exposed to gentle heat, but remember that the temperature must not be too high, otherwise the hair will melt.
